This painting was inspired by a sketch I made in my sketchbook one late summer afternoon in Addo Elephant Park. I was captivated by the vibrant blue plumbago flowers glowing against the rich greens of the surrounding bush. The contrast of colour and the warm afternoon light made the scene unforgettable.
Using transparent watercolour on hot-pressed paper, I sought to capture both the delicacy of the flowers and the peaceful atmosphere of that moment in the landscape.
