  • This painting is part of "Flower fairies" series inspired by a spontaneous scene I observed in Bellevue Botanical Gardens. During my plein air painting session, two girls suddenly emerged in outfits which beautifully matched flowers around them (it was during spring blossoming season). They appeared just like spirits of flowers who assumed human looks 🙂 The hibiscus flower generally symbolizes delicate beauty and femininity: its vibrant colors, especially of the red hibiscus, are seen as a celebration of the passion, strength, and beauty inherent in women. Pink Hibiscus symbolizes gentleness, tenderness, and warmth, often also associated with affection and appreciation. Celebrating these qualities via messages hidden under the cover of a simple idylic scene with the help of the language of flowers and watercolor medium gave me a great artistic joy!
