To The Left of Sunrise

Both of my entered paintings are from the Landscape Mindscapes series which is a series of imagined landscapes, based on reality, yet having a surrealistic mood.

In "To the left of Sunrise", I wanted to experiment with, and so created, a predominantly green sky and used that as my jumping off point to the seascapes composition and colour.

This work is a mixed watermedia artwork of transparent and opaque watercolour and ink on Hahnemuhle 300gms paper.

The message is one of hope, of the inevitable coming of the light. No matter how dark or long the night, the sun always rises.
