Reminiscence

How I wish I could’ve written down all the wisdom this elderly man told me as he smiled and thought deeply about life lessons and marital wisdom as well as how important a father is who is actively involved in his children’s lives to avoid a fatherless nation. I listened until the sun sank away and when I returned the following day with my notebook, I entered a household mourning the loss of one of their fathers- I was honoured to have spent his last few hours with him, listening and dreaming with him. May we all realise the importance of the elderly in our communities and learn from them, spend time with our loved ones and care for one another, because not all of us will have the gift of growing old- use your time wisely and let Christ love everyone through you!
