DETAILS: A sighting of a leopard roaming free in Nottingham Road during September 2023 left some in awe, and some in fear. I for one felt my heart swell with a feeling of wonder, reminiscing of “by gone eras of the wildest of Africa”, romanticised by many. May we not have a statue of a last leopard in our area, like the one in remembrance of the last leopard spotted on Little Lions Head in Cape Town in 1937. May this leopard, and others we are not aware of, roam free and stay safe.
