Inspired by a personal photograph taken at the foothills of
South Africa’s historic Drakensberg Mountains Summer Silouettes explores the profound relationship between light and vitality. For this competition’s theme I wanted to show that light is not just a visual element, but the very essence of life. In this watercolour piece, that energy is felt in the golden, luminous glow catching the distant trees, standing in vibrant contrast to the quiete strength of the dark foreground silhouettes. It captures a sacred moment where light breathes warmth and definition into the African landscape.
